A Gold Blank VATS key makes it possible to create any VATS key by transplanting a VATS chip from a silver-colored key into a Gold Blank VATS.

There are two alternatives. The first is that you do the transplant. It's not difficult, but it requires some attention to detail. The second alternative is that I do the transplant. Take your pick.

The Blank Gold VATS has the Cadillac Wreath & Crest on both sides of the head with real, 24K gold plating. It was made in the USA by General Motors in the 1980's. 

The Gold VATS ignition key is identified by a square key head and a small black VATS chip that is embedded into the shaft of the key. This key blank can be cut at any hardware store or home goods store to match your existing ignition key.

There were 15 different VATS ignition keys were originally produced. They are all visually identical. If you have questions or need help, please ask. 

In order to determine which VATS key you need, you'll need to measure the electrical resistance value of the pellet in your current key (in ohms) with an electrical meter, called a multimeter. If you don't have an electrical meter, you might ask for help from a friend or from the Parts Department at your local Cadillac dealer.  There is a VATS chart included with the media for this page. The chart lists the minimum, design target, and maximum resistance values for each VATS key.
