Gold VATS Key is Unavailable
Unfortunately, some Gold VATS keys are very rare. VATS #1, #4, #7, #8, #9, #10, #11, #13, #14, and #15 are difficult, if not impossible, to locate. Remember that VATS was introduced about 30 years ago and Gold VATS keys haven’t been produced in the U.S. in over 20 years.
We continue to look for a source of Gold VATS keys. If you have any new, OEM Gold VATS key blanks (#1, #4, #7, #8, #9, #10, #11, #13, #14, and #15) that you’d like to sell, please contact us by clicking here.
Until we find a source for those rare VATS keys, here are some alternatives for your consideration.
1) Look elsewhere on the internet for a Gold VATS key. Although these keys are fairly rare, they sometimes pop up on eBay. We
can’t provide links or endorse any other sources because we don’t know if their keys are authentic, so we’ll just say, ‘caveat emptor’.
2) Disable the VATS system in your car – It might seem a little crazy to disable an anti-theft system, but the system wasn’t very effective once car thieves started to obtain electronic devices that could easily defeat the system. It’s a little like having a weak password on your personal computer. The password might prevent an average person (or even you, if you forget it) from getting into your computer, but it would hardly slow down a pro.
Once the system is disabled, you can use ANY VATS key, not just the specific key code that you originally needed. That means ANY VATS key code will work. Your classic Caddy will start and run fine AND you have Gold keys! It’s a win-win.
The following YouTube video is one of many that explain how to disable the VATS system. If you want to compare videos, search ‘disable
VATS’. It’s a popular subject on the internet.
